Recently signed to Roc Nation, talented MC, Southside Yoko (You’re Only King Once), is just starting to make waves in the music industry. From the Virginia city where icons like Missy Elliot, Chris Brown, and Pharrell (just to name a few) have been produced, Hampton Roads, VA, Southside Yoko is taking the world by storm. His music is a testament that hip-hop isn’t dead and that real music does indeed still exist. Influenced by many dope artists such as Snoop Dogg, Tupac, and Nipsey Hussle alike, his music says it all. His inspiration also comes from someone close to him, his late Uncle David Williams, who sang and played rhythm guitar for legendary artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Temptations and more.
Southside Yoko is known for his “raw delivery, relatable content, and flawless musical production". From his debut album, “So Far, So Good”, he shares his life, family, love, and streets, filling your ears with pure truth and making you feel his passion. On the sophomore album, “The Streets Is Watching”, you can undoubtedly hear growth, knowledge, strength, and survival. Yoko is bringing a new sound to the music industry and is not letting up. Signed to major record label, “Roc Nation", as of May 2019, he released his anticipated third project, “Now More Than Ever", on June 26, 2019. Some would define "REAL" music as the ability to listen to an album straight through and enjoy each track just as much, if not more, than the last. I am a part of that group. If reading is not believing, check it out for yourself...available on all digital platforms including, Tidal, and Apple Music. It'd be no surprise if he's a guest performer at next year's BET awards or in the next issue of XXL.
